This is part of the reason why jewellery designers have used the swirl design for many years, and why it is prevalent in both classic and contemporary pieces. Swirls can take the form of recognisable shapes (from snail shells to treble clefs), or can be used for more abstract creations. Either way, they are the perfect way to add decorative detail to an otherwise ordinary piece of jewellery.
